Today we celebrate David’s birthday. As I wrapped David’s present and finished working on the card, Vašek asked if He could make something for Dad. A few moments later, he brought in a nativity scene made out of paper and whispered to me it was for Dad. I asked Vašek why he made it for Dad.
He answered that he would like Dad to remember baby Jesus. Because He’s our Savior.
As I listened to Vašek, I realized what a blessing it was for David to celebrate his birthday so close to Christmas. Even Vašek thought that baby Jesus was the best gift to receive for your birthday.
Today we not only celebrated David’s birthday, but we celebrated the gift of hope. We celebrated our Maker and thanked Him for His marvelous works. Although He’s powerful, His power does not destroy, but rather restores and gives a future and a hope.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29,11 ESV)
Advent is filled with hope, that’s for sure. And today, we celebrate that God has given a future and a hope to David. Happy birthday, David!

Yes, Happy Birthday David. What a special way to celebrate your birthday by remembering Jesus is the best gift of all to all of us. We certainly enjoy your blogs and hope to see you in the spring in the U.S.
